How to Add Extra Passengers to Your Ride

There are two different ways this can be handled and will depend on what has been enabled for the organisations carpooling requirements.

The current behaviour of the Carpooling App is that you can only match with one Driver or Rider per ride - this would be considered a Companion.

Adding passengers is not matching with them, but just having an additional person in the vehicle that will consume capacity set against the vehicle.

Simple Version

This method is simply adding a number of people who are joining your trip but are not a Companion (carpooler) you want to match with. This simply consumes the relevant capacity set on the vehicle completing the journey.

Named Extra Passengers

There is a feature in the Carpool App where extra passengers have to be registered users of the service and are added to a request either by searching their name, mobile number, or the email that they used when they registered in the App, as opposed to just stating a number of additional passengers on your request.

This is a great way to ensure that your Companion (carpooler) is aware of who they are travelling with.

Note: Please be reminded that these extra passengers are different from your Companion carpool match passenger.
Your carpool Companion is the one the process matches your private or public ride with theirs.
This is how Rewards can be achieved for your carpool, as long as the criteria matches and the reward is available, for example the availability of parking spot if that is the reward.

On the other hand, the added extra passenger are those who are travelling with you from and to the same locations and can be added on top of the carpool Companion match.
