Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
In-App Notifications Not Appearing
Confirm login is active and the device has internet access.
Confirm that the correct carpool network is selected.
Refresh the app by fully closing and reopening it.
Update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Push Notifications Not Received
Enable push notifications in device settings:
iOS: Settings > Notifications > Carpool App > Allow Notifications
Android: Settings > Apps > Carpool App > Notifications > Allow
Disable “Do Not Disturb” mode if active.
Turn off battery-saver mode, which may restrict background activity.
Reinstall the app if permissions were denied during setup.
Delayed or Missed Alerts
Confirm mobile data or Wi-Fi is stable.
Remove battery optimisation restrictions for the app:
Android: Settings > Battery > App Optimisation > Carpool App > Don’t optimise
Ensure sure the Carpool App is not restricted by battery optimization
iOS: Ensure Background App Refresh is enabled.
Enable location services for carpark or ride notifications:
Settings > Location > Carpool App > Allow While Using.
Notification Preferences Not Set
Open the Carpool App.
Go to: Profile > Edit > Notification Preferences.
Ensure all relevant alert types are enabled.
SMS or In-App Notifications Disabled
For SMS:
- Check if the number on the profile is correct and verified.
- Check that mobile carrier isn’t blocking the app’s text messages.
- Remove any SMS-blocking or spam-filter apps that could interfere.
For In-App Notifications:
- Go to: Profile > Edit > Notification Preferences and toggle alerts back on.
This option may apply to certain organisations or network, by default in-app notifications are enabled.
- Ensure the app has permission to run in the background (especially on Android).
