Whether you are new to carpooling or a seasoned carpooler, these guidelines will serve as your roadmap for a successful carpooling experience.

NOTE: Even if carpoolers share identical departure and arrival times and locations, they won't be matched if both of them have chosen the same role (for instance, if carpooler 1 and carpooler 2 both select the driver role).

Please see below for the carpool matching scenarios:

Screenshots below shows a Public ride matching, but roles assignment shown below also applies for Private Rides requests.

  • If Carpooler 1 chooses to be the 'Rider' and Carpooler 2 selects the 'Driver' role, Carpooler 1 will always be designated as the Rider, and Carpooler 2 as the Driver, regardless of which carpooler initiated the request. Conversely, if their roles are swapped, Carpooler 1 will assume the role of the Driver, and Carpooler 2 will still be the Driver.

  • Both Carpooler’s role is ‘I don’t mind' and Carpooler 1 is first to submit the public ride request, Carpooler 1 is automatically assigned as the driver
