Screenshots below shows a Public ride matching, but roles assignment shown below also applies for Private Rides requests.
- If Carpooler 1 picks 'Rider' and Carpooler 2 picks 'Driver' Carpooler 1 stays as the Rider, and Carpooler 2 as the Driver, regardless of who initiated the request, and vice versa.

- If both carpoolers choose 'I don't mind' as their role, and Carpooler 1 submits the public ride request first, Carpooler 1 is automatically assigned as the driver.

- If Carpooler 1 chooses to be the 'Driver' and Carpooler 2 picked 'I don't mind', Carpooler 1 will automatically be assigned as the driver.
